Means you can run felt for the slick Hooch tailwater, switch to rubber lug when hiking into Noontootla's wooded approach, add studs for icy winter bank scrambles. One boot, every condition.
Tip: Keep a spare set of felt soles at home — they wear faster than rubber. Rinse boots between trips to prevent didymo / rock snot transfer.
